Dig out your neon tutu and fluorescent leg warmers and run a Bright Day, a dress-down day with a difference that raises awareness and funds for charity.
Everyone turns up wearing their brightest clothes and donates money to Brake in return. Bright Days remind drivers to watch out for pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users, as well as raising awareness of people killed and injured on foot and bicycle on our roads.
The money you raise enables us to run road safety campaigns and education programmes, and to support people affected by road crashes.
Step one: Plan it
Remind everyone the day before to come along dressed in something bright, not their normal work clothes.
Step two: Do it
On the morning of your Bright Day, make sure that everyone donates at least a pound for taking part in the Bright Day. Why not give out a prize for the best outfit?
Step three: Cover it
Get coverage of your Bright Day by sending a press release to your local and industry media - We can give you a sample press release to send out to local and industry media, so you can get coverage for your Bright Day. Don't forget to send one or two photos of your Bright Day alongside your press release.
Step four: Send it
Step five: Donate it
You can pay any money raised to Brake by using the paying-in slip included in your pack, donating online or sending a cheque to Brake, PO Box 548, Huddersfield HD1 2XZ. Alternatively, you can pay by card over the phone by calling 01484 559909.
